Prairie Makers was founded in 2010 by Guy Knox with the desire to find new ways to manage gardens and large spaces in order to shape beautyful landscape that create relaxating and inspiring spaces for the owners, while promoting an abundance of fauna and flora. With a 65% drop of the invertebrate fauna and a 50% decline in birds populations in Europe in the last 30 years it's time to find new ways to manage our gardens and green spaces.

Guy Knox grown in Tasmania (Australia) where he as done his first studies on landscape and horticulture. Then, he went to Sydney to get his diploma, then his Masters (App Sc. Social Ecology). He worked in a design office where he was projects chiefs around ecology then on nationals projects with the Federal Government of Australia. As a scholar ship holder of the "Winston Churchill Memorial Trust", he traveled a lot to Canada, United States of America, United Kingdom and in France to study urban ecology projects.

Arrived in Provence to deepen his knowledge about europeen ecology and fascinated by the richness of the local flora and fauna he decided to specialized in the flowering meadows Quickly finding clients sharing the same ideas, he started creating gardens in harmony with ecology and the "Genius Loci" while using as less as possible water.

His goal is to maintain biodiversity, to encourage his clients to get involved and play a decisive role in their own projects and create permament meadows, which can potentially last decades with a new kind of maintenance using modern technologies inspired by antique farmers, gardeners, sheperds technics.
